Blue Ray

Another endemic ray to Southern Africa, the blue ray, or marbled ray, is prolific in our waters. While it's smaller compared to some other species, it can still reach sizes of up to 30 kg, with the most common catch in the 10-15 kg range. When caught, they display a striking electric blue colour and put up quite a fun tussle! Overall, they're a fantastic species to tick off your list if you're into rays.
