Here's The Bucket List
Tarpon
Gabon is one of the only destinations in the world where it is possible to target Tarpon from the shore on spinning gear. Ollende in particular with its massive inlet can present opportunities weekly to hook into fish from 40kg to 120kg, but landing one takes a test of angler and equipment. Our biggest during the 2023 season was 95kg - that's over 200 lbs!
Longfin and Crevalle
Longfin and Crevalle are the two species of jacks available in Gabon. The sheer number and aggressive nature of the jacks, both in the estuary and the mouth, are astounding. The quality of the size available in Ollende is what really stands out a session of ten Jacks often presents an average size of over 10kg! Catching jacks is extremely fun!
Snapper & Other Species
There are many other iconic species that are plentiful and large in Gabon. Included in this list are giant African threadfin, Canberra snapper, and Guinean barracuda. All of which are capable of growing upwards of 40 Kilos. Sand- sharks, Senegal kob, and tropical Garrick all make the occasional appearance as well.
