The Ultimate African 7 Nights Shore Based Fishing Gabon
Shore Based Fishing Adventure in Gabon
If you asked me about my ultimate shore based fishing dream destination, I would always say Gabon! Renowned worldwide for its incredible shore based fishing opportunities, Gabon is a bucket-list location for any angler. While it always comes with a hefty price tag, I always tell people, "Don’t worry, it’s worth remortgaging your house for this!" However, I understand that most camps in Gabon may not fit everyone’s budget.
After five years of research and many conversations, deals, hosted trips and referrals to fantastic setups, we’re thrilled to announce our most affordable option yet. This is one instance where a decrease in price does not compromise the quality of fishing. In fact I almost want to say that the fishing is likely better as you are on the water’s edge! More about that in the text below.
We are excited to offer a tented camp experience at the famous Ollende Lagoon—an estuary known for its immense fishing potential, likely ranked as the top lagoon for monster tarpon.
As passionate anglers, this experience aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing exceptional fishing adventures. We will be staying in high-quality canvas tents, each equipped with its own fan. Our base camp tent will serve as a communal space for meals prepared by a chef catering to our specific needs. Expect cold drinks, plenty of delicious food, and showers—making this more like glamping!
The real bonus? We’ll be staying right at the lagoon mouth, eliminating the need for transport to go fishing. Wake up, enjoy your coffee (or not), grab your rod, and cast directly into prime Gabonese waters just a few steps away. If the prime fishing window is at 2 AM, you can simply walk to your spot—it's that easy!
Concerned about local knowledge? Don’t be! We’ve partnered with an organization that has been operating in these areas for 30 years. While our main focus is surfcasting, we also have a boat available for three guests to fish either in the lagoon or offshore at a nearby oil rig, which offers fantastic fishing opportunities.
These special trips will be hosted by a DFC guide who will assist wherever needed, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. We are incredibly excited about this offering—don’t miss out on the chance to join us at 25% less than any other option available, all while enjoying more inclusive amenities.
Duration: 7 or 10 night package
It’s quite a journey and pricey too, so to make the most the 2 package options we have setup, a 7 or 10 night option. Each is strategically chosen based on tidal movement during this period. Gabon is very dependent on tides and change in light. Once again proving why it so well placed to be camping next to the water’s edge.
