Northern Angola is a hidden gem for fishing enthusiasts, offering some of the most exciting angling opportunities in the region. Nestled along the banks of the majestic Kwanza River, our lodge provides direct access to one of Angola’s largest and most biologically diverse waterways. The river is home to an impressive variety of fish, including threadfin, tarpon, sailfish, and more.

What sets this destination apart is not just the variety of species, but the size and abundance of the catch. Offshore adventures offer the chance to reel in trophy tarpon (over 80kg!) and sailfish—renowned for their strength, speed, and dramatic aerial displays, making every fishing trip a memorable experience.

The area enjoys a tropical climate, with warm temperatures ranging between 25°C and 30°C (77°F–86°F) year-round. The dry season typically runs from May through September, while the wetter months fall between October and April. These conditions create a consistently pleasant environment for those looking to enjoy the outdoors.

Weather:

The weather in southern Angola is mostly comfortable, but it can sometimes get chilly. Be sure to pack a warm top and long pants to wear while fishing and for sitting around the fire in the evenings.
